The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of James Bartgis can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Dear Ronnie, Joni, and Family, The Schartiger Family was saddened to read of your father's death, so soon after Helen died. We only met them a few times, but Jim and Helen were both very nice people and they welcomed us into their home on Knobley Read. About 2003, Jim discovered our long lost German immigrant ancestor's gravestone. He took it home, cleaned, and kept it (for about eight years), until he located a Schartiger descendant in March 2011. Jim and Helen were recognized honored guests at the restored gravestone's dedication on July 23, 2011. From the dedication program, I offer: JOSHUA 1:6-9 and MATTHEW 11: 28-30. Among your father's posessions, we trust you will find several binders abou5 "John William Schartiger (1810-1856)." In them, you will find photos of and references to your father. On behalf of the Schartiger Family, our deepest appreciation and condolences, Doris (Schartiger) Herbaugh & Steve Herbaugh
