A Jerry Fish Story: I have more than one……but Sandy requested this one… “who caught more fish”. Know that I am laughing while writing this and will laugh every time I tell it! So Jerry, Sandy, Quinten and I go on his boat to a place called “Hop Yard” in King George, VA. Jerry starts out teaching Quinten fishing techniques and Quinten catches a huge catfish….Jerry immediately gets out the fish weigher and measurer… then it’s game on, everyone is catching these big, snotty, slimy catfish … Sandy had Jerry taking hers off because they were soooooooo gross, if you got the snot on you it didn’t come off, he was also taking Quinten’s off and his own….we used gloves, towels anything just don’t touch the fish… Very quickly it became who’s fish weighed more, and then who was catching more….Jerry refused to take Sandy’s fish off anymore because we were ahead…Sandy and I got to laughing so hard at her trying to take the fish off without touching the fish…We were crying with laughter to the point our sides and jaws hurt…..Sandy quit fishing and was playing with a frog lure making it hop across the water…”We were not taking this fishing competition very serious”. Sandy and I had quit counting after Quinten almost hit me in the face, pulling out a big slimer! But not Jerry! We didn’t know how serious Jerry was until… he said “okay I got twelve” and I said something to the effect of “Oh and that’s a big fish story, no way you have more fish than us” Needless to say the fishing trip was OVER… I will forever remember that day with love and laughter, not sure that’s what he remembers it with. LOL
