Obituary for Eleanor Jane Masters Self

Early Saturday morning, January 21, 2017, Eleanor Jane Masters Self soared into heaven for a long awaited reunion with her Lord, family, and friends.

She was born in Berkeley County to "Willie" and Leota Marpole on October 17, 1921.

Eleanor is survived by one daughter, Gail Butler and husband David; one grandson, Mason Butler and wife Eva; and one granddaughter Blair Dubois and husband Carter. She also leaves behind five great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Marpole; and three sisters, Polly Foster, Patsy Hess, and Ruth Miller.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Berkeley Masters and their only son Rickie Masters and her second husband Robert Self; two brothers, Spencer and Lyle Marpole; and two sisters Rev. Louise Barrett and Wilda Newbraugh.

Service will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 11:30AM at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood with David Butler officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00AM to 11:30 AM prior to service on Wednesday.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Countryside Assisted Living and the nurses of Hospice for their tender and loving care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Darkesville United Methodist Church Outreach Fund.
