Cletus Paul  Hockman
Cletus Paul Hockman, 86, of Shepherdstown, WV, went home to be with the Lord on June 20, 2016.
He was born January 17, 1930 in Shepherdstown, WV, he was the son of Paul M. and Eva Hilliard Hockman.
A long-time resident of Shepherdstown, Cletus retired from General Motors after 27 years of service, being a member of UAW Local 1590.
He was a veteran having served in the Korean War with the 101st Airborne Division "Screaming Eagles". He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and Moose Lodge.
A devoted member of St. James Catholic Church in Charles Town and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hagerstown, MD.
Cletus is survived by his children, John "Thomas" Millay and wife, Mary of Kearneysville, WV, Michael D. Hockman and wife, Judy of Winchester, VA, Billy P. Hockman and wife, Nina of Shepherdstown, WV, James G. Hockman of Hedgesville, WV; daughter-in-law, Theresa Hockman of Martinsburg; fifteen grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Michael of Hedgesville, and brothers, Jerry C. Hockman of Shenandoah Junction and Floyd L. "Pete" Hockman of Shepherdstown.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Dolores Payne Hockman; two sons, Jackie L. Hockman and Donnie J. Hockman; an infant daughter, Paula Ann; and sister, Helen E. Hockman.
Cletus lived a very humble "Life" while supporting and volunteering for multiple charities including Human Life International, the Catholic Church, as well as many American Indian Missions and Schools and sponsored numerous children overseas.
He was an avid softball player, playing well into his 80's. He enjoyed the outdoors and feeding the birds and wildlife which visited his home daily.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 3:00PM to 5:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM at Brown Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 10:00AM at St. James Catholic Church with the Very Rev. John Ledford celebrant. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Harpers Ferry.
